Uzbek Refugees Need Urgent Humanitarian Assistance
Dear Honorable World Leaders,
During the past few days crowds of young people organized and instigated by organized criminal groups have been killing, burning and mareudering in the Southern regions of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. Interim government of Kyrgyzstan does not have sufficient police and military resources to cope with the situation alone.
People of Kyrgyzstan need you help. As hours pass by more and more people are being killed, the chaos and lawlessness is spreading to other regions of the country. Unless decisive and fast actions are taken by world leaders to stabilize situation Kyrgyzstan may become a failed state in a matter of days.
It is your moral responsibility as human beings to respond. It is your responsibility as world leaders to act to secure peace and safety for all people of Kyrgyzstan and to restore order and rule of law.
The death count is in the thousands now. Tens of thousand refugees fled to the neighboring territory of Uzbekistan, where local authorities have prepared for them shelters and refugee camps. The humanitarian catastrophe is unfolding very quickly. Assistance to Interim Government of Kyrgyzstan in restoring order is needed immediately.
We respectfully request that you help by providing any kind of aid and humanitarian assistance to these refugees. These refugees are in dire need of food, shelter and medicine.
Please help.
Sincerely, Uzbek Community of United States
